Citing GSM Arena, Redmi 9 will reportedly be launched early next year and will be powered by MediaTek’s chipset, Helio G70, which has not been officially announced. There are no details about the Helio G70, but based on the naming scheme, the chipset is under the Helio G90 in terms of performance to bring the device at a more affordable price. In comparison, Redmi Note 8 Pro uses the Helio G90T chipset, while Redmi 8 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 chipset. Redmi 9 is also said to have a 6.6-inch screen, bigger than the Redmi 8 screen, which has a size of 6.22 inches. The lowest variant of Redmi 9 will reportedly have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, up from Redmi 8 which is equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Meanwhile, other Redmi 9 variants will have higher RAM and internal memory options. Redmi 9 will be launched with the Android operating system 10 wrapped in MIUI 11 interface. The smartphone will reportedly also be present with an increase in the camera, but there are no details about the specifications for the camera.
