Long story short, Mr McAfee and one of his personal bodyguards, Jimmy Gale Watson Jr., are said to have promoted cryptocurrency to McAfee’s followers on Twitter. This promotion is known to be carried out to increase the price of the digital currency and of course, it will be used by McAfee and Jimmy in order to get a sizeable profit. Presently, McAfee founder has been detained in Spain who is likely to be flown to the US, while Jimmy Gale Watson is detained in Texas but still has little freedom considering that he is a former US naval force. “McAfee and Jimmy have exploited social media platforms and the enthusiasm of investors in the cryptocurrency market to make millions of dollars through lies as well as fraud,” said federal prosecutor Audrey Strauss quoted from the BBC.
