I stumbled upon a video on “digital trend” YouTube channel that got me woooow! I was highly impressed by this invention, an amazing super bike that runs on Android OS with 4GB Ram and 1.3GHz processor.
A chinese company “LeEco” formally known as “Letv” has built a super bike called Le Super Bike.
Body
The LeEco smart bike is made with carbon fiber and titanium, and runs on Android. Essentially, the bike has a smartphone built into the handle bars.
The phone is about 4 inches and runs a special skin called BikeOS with bunch of useful features for the road.
The handlebars are fitted with control buttons. There are buttons that will blink to indicate the direction you are turning.
RAM (Built-in Phone)
The phone is actually top-notched with a 4GB of RAM.
Network & Connectivity (Built-in Phone)
Has a 4G connection
Processor (Built-in Phone)
The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz processor.
Battery (Built-in Phone)
It has a battery that can be super charged just by cycling. LeEco makes sure the wheels are unlocked few minutes before the battery runs out.
Sensor (Built-in Phone)
Has a fingerprint sensor which can be used to lock the bike.
It has a built-in fitness tracker and a couple of sensors like the light sensor.
There is also a sensor that monitors heart rate and a sensor for tracking pedal rotations. The list goes on and on.
Rumoured Price
The Le Super Bike is already on sale in China for around $800 (that is approx. N160,000 in Nigeria). However, it will reach USA later this year, and possibly the rest of the world after that. Le Super Bike is what happens when you crossbreed a bicycle, an Android smartphone with 4G connections, a smart car and I guess you know the end result. Le Super Bike can actually do everything a normal bike would do when it runs out of battery, it automatically unlocks itself to work just as normal bike would.
Viklin’s Verdict
Le Super Bike is so cool but having to spend 160k on a bike to ride on the streets of Naija is a hell No for me. It’s way too expensive and and fragile. If you’re a rich kid or have the financial capabilities plus you intend to ride just within your hood, then go for it. Since this is new, I’d be expecting another variant of this, may be with a lesser specs but should be affordable for everyone. They are only putting this out of our reach!!!
